Alva’s Nudisiri - 2014, Kannada Literary Extravaganza at Moodbidri from Nov 14 to 16

Mangaluru: Alvas Education Foundation – Moodubidri will present eleventh Alvas Nudisiri – 2014, three-day Kannada literary extravaganza at Sundari Anand Alva campus of Alvas Education Institutions, Vidhyagiri, Moodbidri, from November 14 to 16.

Addressing media persons here on Friday November 7, Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva announced the list of nominees for Alvas Nudisiri Awards.

Dr Alva said, ‘This year the award will be conferred on 11 eminent personalities.  A total of 11 nominees: Kannada litterateur and researcher Dr Sangamesha Savadattimatha, Professor Vasant Kushtagi, renowned poet and columnist Professor H S Shivaprakash, researcher Professor S Shettar, poetess Dr Malathi Pattanashetty, actor and director T S Nagabharana, Professor Heranje Krishna Bhat, folklore scholar and singer Banandoor Kemmpaiah, Yakshagana veteran Mantapa Prabhakar Upadhyay, dance guru Dr Vasundhara Doreswamy, renowned sculptor Ashwatha Baburaya Acharya have been chosen for their extraordinary contributions in their chosen sphere.

 

Nadoja Siddalingaiah, a senior poet will preside the literary deliberations of the entire event. He has given voice to the voiceless through his works, said Dr Alva.

 

Na D’Souza, senior writer, novelist and social activist, who chaired the eightieth Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held at Madikeri will inaugurate the literary event, add Dr Alva.
