Mobile dealers deceive distributors with Rs. 40 lakh

Mangalore: Two mobile dealers in the city have duped several mobile distributors of Rs. 40 lakh. Babulal and Arjun from Rajasthan who owned a mobile dealing shop `Mayur enterprises’ in Mangalore are the accused of cheating. The complainant Gurudath has been supplying Gionee and Micromax mobile phones to Mayur enterprises belonging to Babulal and Arjun situated at City Tower on Maidan Road for the past 4 months. Everything was going smoothly for two months as the accused had paid the amount in  cash. But after that they switched to cheques as the mode of payment.

When Gurudath went to encash the cheque given by them for Rs. 2,38,000 the cheque was bounced. Gurudath tried to contact the accused on mobile but of no use. He then went to the shop and shocked to see that the Mayur enterprises was closed.

He filed a complaint in Bundar police station. During investigation it is learnt that the accused have cheated many mobile distributors like Ranjith from Shree Enterprises, K B Ravi from Estra Life solutions, Rakesh Shettty from Padma Enterprises, Richard Rasquina from Arvis Agencies, Jeevan from Greens enterprises.  The total amount owed to this group of distributors is around Rs.40 lakhs by initial estimates.
