Agumbe ghat to be closed for three months
Udupi: Agumbe Ghat road which provides shortcut access to Shivamogga district will remain closed for three months from December 21 onwards for repair and broadening. The ghat section will be renovated with a cost of Rs. ten crores to a length of 2.5 km. The road in ghat section has proved extremely dangerous for vehicle goers with steep bends and numerous pot holes.

This road is preferred by motorists from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district as the ghat road provides the shortest connection to Shivamogga district. Once the road is closed, they will have to take alternative routes which are much longer in distance.
