Kundapur: Dead body of a woman was found in a bush in Hardalli-Mandalli near Biddalakatte on Tuesday afternoon. Locals suspect foul play behind the death as the woman’s face was scrunched with a hard weapon. The deceased has been identified as Seetha Kulal (63) resident of Naltoor and was a member of swa-sahaya sangha. On Tuesday morning she went to the bank for depositing the money collected from the members. But she didn’t return thereafter. As others members of the house were also out for work nobody learnt about the incident.

But in the afternoon some woman who went to the hill for bringing firewood saw the deadbody of a woman face crushed and hands twisted. They informed the matter to the locals and soon the news spread in the region and Kota police arrived to the spot  After investigation police confirmed that the deadbody was of Seetha Kulal of Naltur. Her housemates were informed about the matter but the reason behind her death remained a mystery.

Locals suspect that the lady has been murdered for money. Sources reveal that Seetha had a huge amount in her hand which she was going to deposit in the bank. People aware of this might have murdered her for the sake of money. Another source suggests that there is a leopard menace in the locality and locals had heard a screaming in the morning while they were cutting the leaves. They left the leaves and ran for their lives. Brahmavar circle inspector Aruna Naik and Kota police visited spot and filed a suspicious death case.
