Two youths saved in Panambur beach from drowning

Mangalore: Life guards of Panambur beach have saved two students of the Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) from drowning on Wednesday October 8 evening.

A group of six students had come to the Panambur beach on Wednesday.  Among them Veerabhadra, a native of Chikbanavara and R. Prasad, a native of Basavanagudi in Shimoga were caught in the waves while swimming.

When the fellow students started screaming, life guards of the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project (PBTDP) jumped into waters and managed to rescue the duo.

Yatish Baikampady, Chief Executive Officer of PBTDP, said that the parents of the students were informed about the incident.
