Gas tanker overturns at Uppinangady

Uppinangady: A gas tanker overturned on Bengaluru-Mangaluru National Highway near Mani-Uppinangady while negotiating a turn on the morning of at around on 10.30am on Wednesday, November 19.
Gas leaked due to the incident and fire extinguishing personnel rushed to the spot and cleared the situation. The National Highway was closed and the vehicles were made to travel through Puthur-Mani road.
The road from Uppinangady to Mani consists of many steep turns. Few years ago a gas tanker overturned at Parne killing many people. Today’s incident also made people of the region get into tizzy.
