Over 25 vehicles involved in Yamuna express highway mega crash

Three were critically injured and at least 25 injured in a crash involving 25 vehicles.
Over twenty-five vehicles crashed into each other on Yamuna express highway, due to dense fog conditions on early Wednesday morning, leaving at least three critically injured and 25 injured, authorities said.
A dense fog that had blanketed the expressway, on early Wednesday morning, lead to the pile up. The wreckage that stretched for over a kilometer caused several casualties.
“The fog conditions and low visibility has lead to the accident at 9 am. The injured have been taken to hospital. We can confirm that three have been critically injured and at least 25 injured due to the accident,” S C Shukla, SDM, Jewar district said.
The official said that vehicles involved in the pile up include 25 light weight vehicles, two tourists buses and a PAC vehicle. According to the official, the injured have been taken to Kailash hospital, Greater Noida.

According to an eyewitness, the crash took place when a car crossed the centre line and collided with another car. “When a car crossed the centre line and collided with another car, cars behind them slowed down.
Which eventually turned into a chain reaction crash leading to the pile up,” said Prasanjeet Ghosh, a tourist, whose vehicle was involved in the crash said.
