Library week inaugurated in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: On the eve of National Library Week, the Children’s Library Section, Senior Library Section and Computer Section of the City Central Library were inaugurated on November 17, Monday by Mayor Mahabala Maarla.
The three sections were inaugurated by Mahabala Maarla, KG Bhat, a senior citizen, and Kavitha, Deputy Mayor respectively. Speaking after the inauguration Marla insisted children to develop interest in reading books and said it will improve their knowledge.
The children’s section of the library has a collection of 15,000 books and there are about 84,000 books in the City Central Library in total. The new computer section is beneficial for those who want to browse the net for reading news, the Mayor informed. Gayatri, Officer of City Central Library, AC Vinayraj, Poornima, K Mohammad, Corporators and others were present.
