Illegal cattle transport in stolen car: One arrested

Moodubidre: Police have arrested one person in connection with the illegal cattle transportation in a stolen car.

Arrested person has been identified as Mohammed Salim alias Siri Salim, resident of Millat Nagar in Ullala. He has been booked under murder, murder attempt, illegal cattle transportation and many other cases in Ullala, Mangaluru rural and Mangaluru north police station.

On December 10 a speeding car with registered number KA 01 R 4726 plying from Bantwal to Moodubidre lost control of the driver and fell into a ditch. Locals rushed to the spot and they noticed a cow was inhumanely filled into the car. The accused had fled away from the site before the locals reached the spot.

Police arrived at the spot and seized dangers weapons found in the car. Police have succeeded in arresting one person and he has been produced before the court and was sent to judicial custody. Search for the other two accused namely Farooq and Tamim is on. The accused were transporting the cattle in a car which they had stolen in Goa, police said.
