Woman injured as pieces of rock slams into her

Kundapur: A woman was injured as the pieces of rock from the blast site of Varahi slammed into her. The incident happened on Friday evening in Kirladi in Airbail in Shankaranarayan police station limit.

As Varahi project is under progress rocks in the region are blasted using explosives. On Friday evening the victim woman was working outside her house when the pieces of rock slammed into her. As a result she sustained injuries on her eye, hands and waist.

The injured woman is Vanaja Shetty (38) wife of Krishnayya Shetty of Kirladi.  The relatives of the injured lady said, no precaution measures has been taken as the rocks are blasted using explosives since many days in the region. On Thursday also the items in the house of Babi Devadiga was damaged due to the blast. Even though people are getting injured due to the project no senior officers or engineers visited the spot locals complained.
