Student drowns in Nethravathi river near Bantwal

Bantwal: A student lost his life after drowning in Nethravathi river near Panemangalooru on November 29, Saturday. He had reportedly ignored his cautioning friend and ventured into the water.
The deceased is Sharath, SSLC student of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra who had come to visit the river along with his friend Prajwal.
It is said that water level increased after he got in to the waters causing him to drown. The body of the student was later retrieved by some locals who heard Prajwal's plea for help.
Bantwal Circle Inspector Belliyappa, town Sub-Inspector Nandakumar and Sub-Inspector Rakshith visited the spot. A case has been registered by Bantwal city police.
