Manipal: 15-year-old boy succumbs to brain fever

Kundapur, Nov 4: A 15-year-old boy suffering from brain fever since August succumbed to the disease at Kasturba Medical Hospital in Manipal on Sunday. The victim is Abhijit, son of Annaiah Poojary from Marawanthe.
The boy was suffering from Encephalitis (brain fever) from the second week of August. He was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kasturba Hospital in Manipal.
Abhijit was a student of Class 9 at Sandeepan English Medium School at Nagori. In his honour, a holiday for declared for the school.
His body was brought back to Marawanthe on Monday afternoon. Local gram panchayat president, members, teachers and villagers paid their respects to the boy before his final rites were preformed.
Abhijit passed away, leaving behind a sorrowing family. He is survived by his father, mother, sister and brother.
