Shabarimala pilgrim dies in train accident

Puttur: Vidya Shankar Iyer a devotee of lord Aiyappa lost his life in a train accident while he was on a foot pilgrimage to Shabarimala. Iyer was a retired Karnataka forest department employee. He along with his two friends left home to Shabarimala on foot.
While they were walking on the railway track in Talangere, Iyer was knocked down by the train and he died on the spot. Vidya Shankar Iyer used to make Shabarimala pilgrimage on bare foot every year, his family members said.
