Women become victims of several problems

Puttur: “A woman takes care of her family with love and care .Mother is largely responsible in shaping the future generation of this country. But unfortunately in our country women become victims of several problems. There is an urgent need to solve this problem in order to protect the rights of the women,” said Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto, Correspondent of Mai De Deus Educational Institutions.
He was addressing the gathering in an awareness programme on Women Issues organised for the female staff of Puttur under Catholic Board of Education. The Resource Person of the session Mr. Robinson D’Souza, Former secretary to Government of Karnataka, Dept. of law spoke on sexual harassment on women and the law to prevent it. He also gave an insight on Right to Information Act.
The Principal of St. Philomena P.U College, Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo and the Former Principal of St. Aloysius College, Rev. Fr Eugin Lobo were present. The Secretary of Catholic Board of Education, Very. Rev Fr Jerald D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The H.O.D of Political Science Prof. Venkateshwari proposed the Vote of thanks. The H.O.D of English, Mrs. Bharathi Rai was the master of ceremony.
