Sullia: Wild elephants are giving sleepless nights to the residents of Mandekolu here. On Wednesday night elephants entered into the plantations of the region and destroyed valuable plants.
Areca, Banana and other commercial crops have been severely vandalized by the elephants. Even after wild elephants raiding into the fields of farmers and repeated appeal from the farmers the forest department is not taking any steps to restrict the giant animal, locals lament.
