Two minor girls went missing: Love angle suspected

Padubidri: Two girls who were residing here in a rented house went missing. Family suspect that they might have eloped with their lovers.  Drakshayini (16) daughter of Manappa Badigera resident of Gadaga and his sister Shankaramma’s daughter Kavery (16) are the two who went missing.

It is said that the duo had went to a fair in Lingapayyanakad in Karnad with their mother. But later they went missing from the place.

The family of the girls were residing in rented house in  Labour colony  in Padubidri. The family members searched for the missing girls in relative’s places and in the village but during this it was learnt that the two youths, Rudrappa and Basavaraj from the neighbourhood also went missing. The family of the girls suspects that the girls might have gone with the boys and filed complaint in Mulky police station.

Twist in love marriage: It was a forced marriage says the girl

Mangalore: Not many love stories especially interfaith marriages survive for long time. The reason behind this is many. But Youngsters often commit mistake by not paying heed to their elder’s advices and elope with their lovers and in a hurry get married. This kind of marriage doesn’t sustain for long time. An example for this came to light in Mangalore when a newly wed woman filed a case against her husband and five others. Vivitha D’Souza (23) resident of Elyarpadav is the girl who had filed a case against her husband Roshan Shetty.

Vivitha D'Souza was in love with Roshan Shetty for the last 3 years. On October 16, Vivitha out of her own wish and decision went against her parents and got married to Roshan in accordance with to the Hindu rituals in Arya Samaj here.

She did not heed to her mother and brothers' advice when they pleaded her not to marry Roshan. When the mediapersons wanted to click the photographs of the marriage rituals, Vivitha refused to marry if her pictures were clicked. Later when assured by the mediapersons of not clicking her pictures, Vivitha proceeded with the rituals and got married to Roshan and they were pronounced husband and wife.  The police obtained a statement in which she had declared that she was is in love with Roshan and wanted to marry him on her own will.

But merely 5 days after the marriage that is on October 21 she, along with her brother, went to the Konaje police station and filed a complaint against her husband Roshan and 5 others who were present at the time of her marriage at the Arya Samaj Mandir.  She has stated in the complaint that she had been forced into the marriage. The Konaje police are investigating the case.

 

Newly wed woman caught while trying to elope with lover

Madikeri: A newly wed woman tried to elope with her lover in Murnadu. Locals who noticed this thrashed the lover and handed to the police. Sudha, resident of Palibetta was married to Eerappa of Murnadu on October 19 and on October 20 marriage reception was held. Very next day of the reception Sudha was seen travelling with Shashikumar in a car. Locals thought Shashikumar was trying to kidnap Sudha and assaulted him after waylaying the car. They then handed over the accused to the police.

During police interrogation it is learnt that, Shashikumar and Sudha were lovers since two years and Sudha with her own consent tried to elope with Shashikumar. Madikeri station police had filed a case and investigation is on.
