Three teenagers arrested for stealing valuables in hospitals and wedding venues

Mangaluru: Three teenagers who were specialized in stealing at wedding venues and hospitals were arrested by Ullal police on Friday November 14. The arrested are identified as Shrijith (20) from Dasaramule Konaje, Sachin (19) from Acchukodi Pachanady, Akarsh Pillai (19) alias Akash from Shivanagar, Moodushedde. 

The prime accused in this case, Shrijith had stolen a vanity bag belonging to a K S Hegde hospital medical student and he had used the stolen ATM card to withdraw Rs. 10,000. The CCTV installed in the ATM showed a bike which the robbers used. Police in an operation arrested the trio and during interrogation it is learnt that they have confessed about many similar kind of thefts.

The trio used to enter the wedding venue and lure the children with chocolates. They later snatch the gold worn by the children and flee from the site. They also eyed on mobile phones which were kept for charging in hospitals and showed their knack of hand by stealing them.

Ullal Inspector Pramodkumar with SI Rajendra, PSI Bharathi, ASI Mohandas and Vijayraj had participated in the operation with the help of other police personnel. Police seized a gold chain and a FZ bike from the accused. The trio have shown the police a place where they had dumped stolen ATM cards. Police were surprised to see more than hundred ATM cards there.
